Highlight the conversation with a graphic recording
As well as being an illustrator, I am also a graphic recorder (or a scribe, graphic harvester, live illustrator). At workshops, conferences and meetings, I create summaries, literally as they happen. Visual summaries are more memorable and accessible than communicating through words alone, especially when engagement with an event’s purpose is paramount to producing actionable results.
A finished visual summary is a widely shareable asset, on paper or as digital graphics. It can be shared with event attendees and stakeholders afterwards, forming as a tangible snapshot that holds people’s attention more than scribbled notes ever will.
The scenes Amy created across the day captured the conversation and were the focus point of the room, which really enhanced attendees' overall engagement. – Julie O'Donnell, Senior Executive Officer, Higher Education Authority (HEA).
